03月28日： Finance stocks lifted VN-Index up (VN-Index +0.55%）

• VN-Index started high above the reference mark thanks to support from Banking and Financial Services sector.
• However, the market encountered resistance near the old peak of August 2022 at 1,295. Correction pressures began to set in and dragged the index down. Real Estate sector was at the center of correction pressures.
• Selling continued to be dominant theme in the afternoon and spread wider across the market.
• Nevertheless, Banking and Financial Services sectors held strong to keep the market in the green.
• As such, despite the large index gains, market breadth reflected a more balanced picture with 254 winners, 209 losers, and 80 unchanged.
• Liquidity increased once again to VND 25.8 trillion, up 7.5%.

VN-30 was highly positive (VN-30 +1.12%)

• The basket leaned heavily to buy-side with 18 increasing stocks, 7 decreasing stocks, and 5 staying the same.
• Aside from the aforementioned Banking stocks, major gainers included FPT (+1.65%), VHM (+1.88%), VIC (+1.17%).
• GVR (-1.05%) and VRE (-1.16%) continued to be notable decliners, joined by PLX (-1.18%).

Sectors and stocks daily highlights

• TCB (+5.38%) was the most prominent Banking stock today after the bank announced a 15% cash dividend for the first time in 10 years. The bank also set a profit before tax target of VND 27,100 billion (+18% YoY) for 2024.
• The increases of Financial Services stocks SSI (+1.69%), HCM (+3.62%), VCI (+1.70%) came as the Minister of Finance hosts a meeting to update on the progress of KRX.
• Foreign investors extend their net selling streak to thirteen with VND 1,328 billion net sold today. VHM (+1.88%), VRE (-1.16%) and TCB (+5.38%) were net sold heavily. On the other hand, STB (+3.56%) was the sold notable net bought stock.
